The two faces of environmental drag queen, Pattie Gonia

[emaillocker id=4438]

Not only has Pattie Gonia made it to the top of some gorgeous mountains in her killer six inch heels, she’s now risen to the top of Out Magazine’s most influential LGBTQ+ people of 2020. The sustainable drag queen, whose name is a play on the famous outdoor clothing brand, is a fierce, adventurous advocate for social and environmental change. She uses her platform to encourage people to respect Mother Nature and live unapologetically.

Pattie, who refers to herself as a “fetus drag queen” and a “queer environmentalist,” began promoting intersectional environmentalism in 2018. Since then she has fueled conversations about diversity and inclusion, given lectures on the importance of allyship, and taken the opportunity to donate to causes she strongly supports. Through her social media channels, Pattie reminds people that their actions matter, and acts as an example to those around her.

While the hiking queen posts about topics of dire importance, she is also mindful that there’s always space to make people smile. Pattie’s love for Beyoncé and clapping back at haters makes her relatable, but if that’s not reason enough to love her, she also reads environmental poetry while she slays in outfits made from plastic bags and hiking supplies.

If you need more intersectional environmentalism, killer drag outfits, and honesty in your life, you need to check out Pattie Gonia.
