5 Helpful Tips to Show Mom Some Love this Mother’s Day
Given current circumstances, many of us will celebrate Mother’s Day differently this year. Be a hero to your mom and embrace this year’s celebration by making the day extra special for her.
We understand specific traditions like restaurant dinners, family parties, fabulous brunches, and city boat cruises will not be possible, however here are a few unique ideas you can make this day the most memorable yet, even from far apart.
- Offer some time for her to soak up in the tub with a good book by sending her a new book (or e-book) and some bath and beauty products. Nothing says, “We love you, mom” more than some “me” time at home.
- Order carryout from her favorite local restaurant. Make sure to check for changes in hours and menu items by calling the restaurant directly or checking their website in advance. You can always jump on a video call with mom and share your favorite meals together.
- Create a photo and video slideshow with your favorite memories. You can even theme it to her favorite music.
- Bring the entire family together for a virtual tea party using a video call or conferencing service. Many have extended their free service options during the pandemic, and some allow you to do so year-round.
- Send her a basket of fruit or a bouquet of flowers from a local or online delivery service; they have a variety of creative gifts with personalized options.
And, if you live with mom, celebrate her at home. Cook her up an all traditional breakfast in bed — eggs, pancakes, sausage, honey, and her favorite fruit to start her special day right. Other ideas include a TV or movie watch party or having a backyard BBQ with members of your household.
However you choose to celebrate mom, remember it’s the thought that counts. If you had grander plans in mind before the pandemic, see if you can rain-check your plans for next year. You’ll have a great surprise all set in advance!
